Ariel, The Little Mermaid Under The Sea
To trace back the Disney classic story, it was a loose rendition of a story originally written by a man named Hans Christian Andersen. Ariel, the little mermaid herself, is the youngest of the daughters seeded from the mighty King Triton. Little Ariel finds herself unsatisfied with living in the sea and desperately wants to seek out the uncharted dry land world above her. Within the mist of her adventures, Ariel falls in love with a human above the ocean’s waves, which causes her to frequently get tied up in scuffles with her dad, Triton. The King believes with the humans are nothing but “barbaric fish eaters,” and forbids her to wander their territory. Ariel finds a way to explore the unknown land by making a deal with the evil Ursula, unknowing that the conniving sea witch‘s intentions are really to ultimately destroy the little mermaid Ariel in order to get her revenge back at King Triton, who has banished Ursula from the sea.
As with nearly all Disney stories, The Little Mermaid has a happy ending as Ursula is defeated, and King Triton gives in the the wishes and heart of his lovesick daughter, Ariel. With a bit of Disney magic, Ariel becomes human and she joins the prince as “part of his world” to live happily ever after.
